Ah…..a new year….
Well, I survived New Year’s! 2009 is here and I’m looking forward to making it a great year. But, I must look back at 2008 and remember what made 2008 great. I found this great article in News and Observer about looking back at North Raleigh/Mid Town in 2008. Click Here to Read. It made me [...]
Green Light is a Go
Several weeks ago, Mike and I won tickets to go see John Legend at the Durham Peforming Arts Center. I had wanted to go, but didn’t really have the extra cash, but luckily the stars aligned and I was able to get two tickets to go. The DPAC is a great venue to see an [...]
Run like you stole something!
I did it.
I can now check off “Run Marathon” on my life list. I ran a marathon. This was the hardest thing that I have ever done in my life up to this point. My time was off my goal….but man…..I’m glad I finished when I did.
Here is a recap of my Marathon Weekend in [...]
T-minus 10
Well, seems I am on the upswing of my cough. Thanks to the narcotic cough medicine that my doctor prescribed….I’m doing pretty well. Last night (in 40 degrees) we ran about 5 miles which seemed a breeze compared to the 13 from Sunday.
Since tonight is Halloween (and my nephew’s birthday) we won’t be running our [...]
Can 13 miles make you quit coughing?
I went to the doctor on Thursday and yes, I have some sort of bronchial bug…so I am downing antibotics and cough medicine like it’s GU or Diet Coke. I didn’t run at all last week, due to my cough and doctor advisement. But, I had to run my long run yesterday. I couldn’t just “not [...]
T-Minus 21 days
In 21 days, I will be running the Outer Banks Marathon. Last week I ran a total of 42 miles. Twenty plus miles of that was just on Saturday. 14 was on Sunday. Man, am I about tired of running! Saturday was both a high and a low. A high - I just ran freakin 20 [...]
Happy Birthday Mom!
I have mixed feelings today. Up until 2001, September 11 was my mom’s birthday. Now the date is shared with a event in history that we will never forget…the attack on the United States…World Trade Center, The Pentagon and Flight 93.
So, in the spirit of my mother’s birthday. I looked up the history of the [...]
Go Away Gustav
Not much to write about this blog….just felt like I need to mention this. On the Friday before Labor Day….to honor those workers who helped those in need in New Orleans in 2005 and those who continue to assist…….on the eve of Hurricane Gustav who will put New Orleans in the path of destruction……..Louisana…..you are [...]
