YES - I HAVE ONE
A Nintendo Wii!!!
My husband and his friends play video games…Xbox…Halo, golf and soccer are some of the favorites. When our good friend Joey and Mike were roommates (prior to me moving in), they bought an XBox. Great investment. This Xbox now lives at Joey’s house…hooked up to yet another XBox so the guys (an occasional female) can play in separate rooms. Yes, it’s a little juvenile…but everyone needs an outlet and quality time with friends!
Anyway, like a good husband, Mike wanted to get something that I enjoyed playing as much as he did the Xbox. We heard of this thing call “Wii.” Several colleagues of mine had one and a friend or two were picking up on the idea…..so several months ago, Mike and I decided to buy one. Bowling, Boxing (that’s a workout), and tennis came with the game….but when the “Guitar Hero” came out…..we had to get one. Apparently, we got it at the right time since it is the hardest thing to find right now.
I do not remember the last time we played the boxing or bowling game on the Wii….we are ALWAYS playing Guitar Hero. And, man….can it wear you out!
I’m only on the medium level…and it’s kicking my butt.
It’s a great way to feel like a rock star (even with a small kid size guitar). If you love music and air guitaring! - did you know there is a tournament for this stuff…anyway…Guitar Hero is great! We do wish we could figure out the cheat section to allow us more songs…Pat Benetar (I’m not linking to her…you should know who she is!!), Kiss, and Metallica are great, but I want more choices…I guess that comes with the “hard” level..one day…one day….I’ll get there.
So, in summary….the Guitar Hero is a great way to diminish any relationship tension, solve fights (or create them) for newlyweds.
If you have any great Guitar Hero stories…or any feedback on the “cheats” let me know. I need more cowbell! (Oh, sorry….that’s for another blog)
(By the way, I’m playing “Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns N Roses in the picture above. How it “should” sound is in the video below…gotta love the 80s.)

Jenn! I love your blog..I was laughing out loud at the more cowbell comment! So I’ve tried playing guitar hero once and I was terrible, so I’m not sure I would be able to help much! Keep the posts coming they’re great!
